the violet used by the Sapphires would be violet / red. containing more red than blue. blue / violet would be called Indigo and Magenta (aka purple, aka secondary violet) would be in between the 2 and what is called "violet" in the colour wheel above. unfortunately, the emotional spectrum doesn't strictly adhere to the colour wheel and there is not consensus among people who use colour wheels (vs lamens) on what colour is called what. so it's a circular discussion best avoided. was looking for some illustration of a color spectrum in "natural tones" and this one caught my eye | "a color circle based on spectral wavelengths will appear with red at one end of the spectrum and violet at the other, and with a wedge-shaped gap representing colors which have no unique spectral frequency; these extra-spectral colors, the purples, are rather formed by the additive mixture of colors from the two ends of the spectrum."
